About Copper CNC
We are a matching service for one niche: machined copper parts. We do not own machines and we are not a marketplace.
What this site is
You send one RFQ for a copper part. We read it, and we pass it to up to 3 machine shops that cut copper regularly. Those shops quote you directly and you place the order with whichever one you pick. The order, the contract and the money stay between you and the shop.
That is the whole service. There is no portal to log into, no bidding, no auction and nothing to sign.
Why it exists
Copper is a filter. Almost any CNC shop will accept a copper job, and far fewer will hand back a burr free, plating ready part at the price they first quoted. From the outside those two groups look identical, and the quote does not tell you which one you are talking to.
Meanwhile shops that genuinely run copper spend their time quoting work they were never going to win, because the requests reaching them were never filtered.
Both problems are the same problem seen from two sides, and it is a small enough niche that one person reading the drawings can solve it.
How we get paid
Shops pay us for matched requests. Buyers pay nothing, ever, and there is no commission on the order.
That arrangement has an obvious risk in it, so here is how we handle it. We are paid per matched request, not on the value of the order, so we gain nothing by steering you toward an expensive shop. We cap each RFQ at 3 shops, which means we make less on a request we could have blasted to twenty. If only one shop suits your part, you get one quote and we get paid once.
If that model ever changes, this page changes with it.
What we do not do
- We do not own machines, and we never quote your part ourselves.
- We do not take a percentage of your order.
- We do not send your drawing to everyone. Shops see a preview with no name, no company and no files attached.
- We do not sell or rent your contact details to anyone outside the shops we match you with.
- We do not publish client counts, network size, years in business, certifications or testimonials. This site is new and every one of those would be invented. See our editorial standards.
- We do not answer faster than we can do the work properly. Every reply target on this site is within 24 business hours.
Who writes this
The site is run by an independent sourcing specialist rather than by a machine shop or a venture funded marketplace. The same person who reads your RFQ writes the guides on this site, which is why they are specific about tooling, burrs and drawing callouts rather than generic.
We are not a certifying body, a standards organisation or a laboratory. Where this site quotes an alloy property we say where the figure comes from and we label it as typical for the alloy. Where we do not know, we say so.
How to check us before you send anything
- How we match sets out every step your RFQ goes through, and the checklist a shop has to pass.
- Editorial standards explains where our numbers come from and what we refuse to publish.
- Privacy covers who sees your files and how long we keep them.
- The grade reference is the easiest way to judge whether we know the material.
Contact
Buyers: . Machine shops: . Email is the only channel, for buyers and for shops. There is no phone number and that is deliberate, because a copper quote is decided by a drawing rather than by a conversation.
